Partnership Meetings and Minutes

Contents

Trustees meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at the Community & Resource Centre, from 7pm to 9pm. These meetings are open to Members and to the general public. They are also attended as required by representatives of local statutory bodies such as the police, Rotherham M.B.C., the Health service, etc.

Note that Trustees meeting minutes are only published on this website after they have been approved by the Trustees as an accurate record of events. For this reason the minutes will normally become available only after the following month's meeting.

Minutes of the most recent public meetings involving the Partnership are shown below. Alternatively you can download these and the minutes of earlier meetings from the downloads page, Where these documents are available in Adobe Portable Document (.PDF) format, for which free reader software can be obtained from a link on the same page.

610 Medical Centre:- Presentation of results of Patient Survey

On behalf of Treeton Medical Centre, Trevor Ledger presented the results of the Patient Satisfaction Survey, (which the Practice had undertaken in September 2006), to the Trustees and members, (several of whom are patients of the practice).

Trevor explained how the survey had been organised and then talked through the main findings of the survey and gave a comparison of the Practice's achievement with the previous year and also with the General Practice Assessment Questionnaire (GPAQ) benchmarks for patient satisfaction among other participating practices, where appropriate.

The results of both years' surveys are remarkably similar on many of the indicators. The most improved results were seen in the responses to questions about the doctors? consultations.

Satisfaction with receptionists: The practice has registered a 3% improvement in satisfaction with Receptionists. The Practice's mean score was also 3% better than the GPAQ benchmark - a pleasing result for surgery staff.

Trevor talked through some of the areas that the Practice has decided to focus upon in order to make improvements in future scores. These were as follows:

Access to GPs - these scores had fallen slightly on the previous year. The Practice is to continue to publicise the services which the Nurse Practitioner can provide for minor ailments in order to free up more doctors' appointments.

Waiting time at the practice: Satisfaction with waiting times had improved by 1% on the previous year and is 7% better than the GPAQ benchmark. The Practice has also observed that a significant number of patients arrive very early for their appointments, particularly those who travel by bus. The Trustees suggested that the Practice could recommend a change to the way the survey question is worded in order to ask "how long were you waiting after the time of your appointment".

Telephone access to the practice: Results were again almost identical to last year's.

Trevor told the meeting that the Practice Reception team is working trying to improve its performance in this area.

Speaking to Doctor on phone for advice, again broadly similar to the previous year. The Practice is going to publicise this facility more widely through its website and, in response to a suggestion made at the meeting, in the March issue of Treeton Community News.

At the end of the presentation, Trustees were invited to ask questions about the survey, which were answered by Trevor.

611 Rotherham Local Development Framework

Gordon stated the new consultation documents were available to look at and developments around the area would have a major impact on Treeton.

A decision has been made to allow some development with some restrictions. On the Waverley site the advanced manufacturing park is already being developed, a commercial development is at the planning stages and the final stage will be housing and green spaces.

Concerns were raised as to impacts of pollution from increased traffic with new housing, industrial services and also the YES project coming to the area. Any comments on the documents need to be sent in by the end of March.

612 Manager's Report

612a It was agreed that Andrea, Robin and Gordon would do the interviews.

612f Treeton Torture leaflets have been distributed around the village thanks to Gordon and Chris.

612g A number of people had asked about the Autism Centre, Nic had been in touch with the PR company who had originally been out to discuss the site. They advised that Autism UK had been taken over in the Summer of 2006 and were no longer working with Eden PR and they were not currently offering any information as to what or when something would be built.
